How to verify domain in Facebook Business Manager (using DNS verification)
Apple has announced changes with iOS 14 that impact how Facebook receives and processes conversion events from tools like the Facebook pixel. Businesses that optimize, target, and report on web conversion events will be affected.
Before you begin
- If you don’t have a Business Manager account: Create a Business Manager account. You must have a Business Manager to verify your domain. Read on How to create Facebook Business Manager Account
To verify your domain
- After you have logged in to your Facebook Business Manager, go to Business Settings, or click on this link >> https://business.facebook.com/settings
- In the Business Settings, select the Brand Safety tab, and select Domains from the left side navigation list.
- Click on the Add button, and enter your domain in the Add a Domain pop-up dialog. Eg: abc.com
- After adding your domain, you should be able to see your domain listed.
- Select “Update the DNS TXT record with your domain registrar”
- Click on the below TXT link (circled in red) and auto copy the TXT Record, and head over to your domain provider site.
(If you require assistance, you may contact the support from your domain registrar/provider.)
- Go to the domain site you purchased your domain from, example: GO DADDY
- My Products > Manage DNS
- Add a new record by clicking “Add”
- Select record type “TXT” > Insert @ in Host column, insert TXT copied from Facebook Manager in TXT Value column > Save
- Head back to your Business Manager Account to click “Verify Domain” below (Zoom out if you can’t see the Verify Domain button)
- Once you have followed the above steps correctly, you should be able to verify your domain.
